Overview

As Ukraine approaches another winter, humanitarian needs are expected to intensify as ongoing attacks on critical energy infrastructure continue to threaten the uninterrupted provision of electricity, heating, water and essential health services. Lessons learned from previous winters have demonstrated that widespread disruptions to energy systems can leave millions of people without access to basic services for prolonged periods during freezing temperatures, with particularly severe consequences for populations living in frontline and recently affected areas.
