Respiratory Viruses Surveillance Bulletin: Epidemiological Week 29, 2026

Overview

• Regional influenza positivity increased from 10% in week 27 to 13% in week 29 of 2026. SARS-CoV-2 positivity increased over recent weeks, reaching 8% in week 28, before declining to 2% in week 29. The apparent decrease, however, is likely attributable to incomplete or reduced data reporting in week 29. (Figure 1).
• The predominant circulating influenza subtype was influenza B(Victoria), accounting for 50.5% of all detections. (Figure 2).
